We left around noon on Friday November 15th. We were headed to root on the Northwest Bearcat football team. The Bearcats were playing the Grand Vally State University Lakers in the NCAA Division 2 national football championship. The game was being held in Florence Alabama which is around 600 miles give or take a few from Kansas City. We had 6 people going in 2 cars. All i have to say about the trip down was that it was a heck of a lot of fun and sure did not seem like we had driven ten and a half hours.

We got up early the next morning and headed to the game where we had to walk through a mob of GVSU fans shouting and throwing empty beer cans at us as we walked through. We just walked on though with our heads held high chanting B-E-A-R —- C-A-T-S. We watched as the Bearcats put up a good fight despite the referees missed way to many blatantly obvious plays that deserved penalties. The game was a close one with very little movement of the ball from both teams. The game ended with a score of 17 to 14.

After the game we hopped back in the car and made the long drive home. We arrived back home around three in the morning on Sunday. I would like to point out that no matter what time you drive I-70 from Kansas City to St. Louis there just isn’t much out there. Overall it was a great trip many great memories.

Well the Northwest Bearcats are going back to Florence Alabama. The games have been spectacular during the playoffs. I have added more pictures in my gallery go check them out here
