Size does not always matter

**********UPDATE********
since I wrote this original posting I have seen 3 more of these trucks. The local International dealer must have gotten in their new shipments.

I was headed to lunch the other day with a coworker and we happened to be talking about how some of the vehicles around here are just very impractical and we saw one that just blew us away. One would think with the gas prices around $2.15 to $2.40 that people would be driving vehicles that get a very high number of miles per gallon. I would assume however, in this day and age the larger the tuck the higher you are in status in society, but that’s a rant for another day.

Anyway back to my story.

With all of my worldly travels I have seen some weird and strange cars and trucks through all of my travels. However this one still takes the cake. It is the International CXT. I had read internet gossip and eventually saw pictures of this huge truck. A few days ago I finally saw in up close and personal. When I say personal I say we were almost driven over. This tuck is huge it is as tall as a semi truck and in order to get in you have to have two steps to get there. The bed is very small and at max can hold a 4 wheeler. I just don’t understand why you would want to drive this in stop and go traffic around here.

Here is what the truck looks like in its native habitat however it will never get there living in Kansas City.

Who are you?

Bloged in Words of Wisdom by Adam Monday March 26, 2007

I was watching a movie the other night called Secondhand Lions . One of the scenes made me sit and think about life. In the scene the 2 brothers and the nephew are sitting at an old diner. They are eating their meal when a group of rowdy young teenagers come in. One of the boys goes to reach for Hubs food and he brushes the teenagers hand away. The boy then says

“Hey, who do you think you are, huh?”

Hub then grabs the boy by the throat and says

“I’m Hub McCann. I’ve fought in two World Wars and countless smaller ones on three continents. I led thousands of men into battle with everything from horses and swords to artillery and tanks. I’ve seen the headwaters of the Nile, and tribes of natives no white man had ever seen before. I’ve won and lost a dozen fortunes, KILLED MANY MEN and loved only one woman with a passion a FLEA like you could never begin to understand. That’s who I am. NOW, GO HOME, BOY!”

That quote made me think “Who am I”

Here is what I have come up with.

My name is Adam Nutting im 24 years old and I have……

survived cancer

been cancer free for 14 years.

lived in Europe.

graduated from high school in another country.

gone to the college of my dreams

graduated from college with a degree

the ability to use my degree on a daily basis as Web Engineer.

a great job where I love the work, the people, and the atmosphere.

loved and lost and will love again.

a passion for an organization that very few people would understand unless you have seen the magic that happens at Camp Quality

many friends who believe in me and support me.

a very close family who also supports and believes in me

been inspired as well as been an inspiration.

Now with that said who are you?

Just remember that there is someone always watching you. You are someones inspiration, their hero, their friend.

We cant be perfect all the time, but we can at least be ourselves all the time.

Today Your Job Title Is ?????

Bloged in Work by Adam Thursday March 22, 2007

Ok after the last post about being a geek I said I would explain my job situation. Yes mom and dad I still have a job don’t worry. I wont be asking you for large sums of money this month. There is always next month however he he he :-D. OK back to business. I guess really the best place to start any story is at the beginning. I was hired and started working at PlattForm in May 2006. I was hired as a Web Designer.

My role as a web designer was to design and developer client web sites, email marketing pieces, banners, etc. Three or so months after starting I was approached by a couple of managers to move over to the web master team. I agreed and moved over a few weeks later. My duties as a Web Master was very similar to that of the web designer however we only worked on internal sites. This role was geared more towards coding rather than designing. Which i seem to prefer.

I was enjoying my role as a Web Master quite well until one day we got called into a meeting with our boss. In the meeting we were told that we would be moving departments to programming and we would have new managers. It was a scary thought being a programmer I had disliked programming ever since college where I had failed miserably at programming classes. Our new title was now Web Engineer. With the move of the web master team the web design team would be loosing some of their duties. They would no longer be doing any coding. They would only be designing, where as the Web Engineers roles expanded to include coding of both internal and client sites and various other HTML based items.

The transition has been rough with all the new processes. We are slowly getting up to speed and here in a few months we should be one mean coding machine. AND WE ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER
