And There It was

Bloged in Life, Randon Poop by Adam Sunday May 27, 2007

On an average Saturday last weekend I was headed out to take my dog for a walk. What did I find sitting in my parking lot. A Ferrari, It was parked there sparkling there with its majestic beauty. I honestly did not know what it was until I was walking my dog behind it and saw the huge Ferrari Letters across the trunk. I quickly walked into my apartment told my roommate who didn’t believe me and grabbed my camera.

Ferrari 1

Fer 2

You just don’t see a Ferrari parked out side of an average Overland Park Apartment complex on a regular basis.

The Ferrari has more meaning than just a cool car setting in my apartment complex parking lot. First off I lived in Turin which is known for three major things: Movies, Cars, and the 2006 Winter Olympics. Turin might be considered to be the Detroit of Italy. I was able to tour the Museo dell’Automobile and if you ever find your self in Turin (Torino) Italy please stop at the museum its amazing.

The second thing about this car that grabbed my attention was the front license plate. It is from Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I was able to attend Philmont two times once with my dad and the second with my dad and younger brother. If you are a scout or scout leader I strongly urge you go. It was the best time I have ever had. It was challenging both mentally and physically. It truly tests oneself.

So To end this post look carefully at what is parked in your parking lot. There might be a vintage Ferrari parked out there.

Strength where does it come from?

Bloged in Words of Wisdom by Adam Sunday May 20, 2007

It can come from way down deep during the tough times, or it can be found in close friends and family.

True strength comes from heart ache, pain, loss, or horrible situations.

There are very few of us who are able to harness that strength and rise to a new level above those who will simply carry on.

Those that rise to that new level will always prevail, overcome and survive.

The one major thing that always prevents people from moving on, or dealing with the events at hand is taking that first step.

Letting oneself become completely vulnerable to allow for the opportunity to pick themselves up.

Many choose to do that on their own, while others would rather confide in family and friends to help them battle through.

That is what separates those who strive to find their inner strength and those who simply run.

Those that just carry on will always continue to run from the hardships in order to just ignore the problems thinking they will just disappear.

Those people who keep running will eventually have to hit a dead end, or they will continue to run in circles.

Through all of those hardships comes true strength. It opens a door to a new awareness of strength in ones self.

One that has taken the time to hit rock bottom and say “why am I here” and “how am I going to get out”. Has truly found the first steps to recovery and happiness.

A person that has truly relied on their inner strength has seen their inner spirit.

In doing so they have stumbled upon a great mystery in life, that mystery of the realization of who that person really is.

No one ever knows who they are until they find it or in many cases that inner self shines through in the roughest times helping them accomplish anything during the rough periods.

Finding true strength leads to helping find oneself.

Thus allowing the person to be truly happy with not only their surroundings, but to be truly happy with themselves.

We should not spend our time feeling sorry for ourselves instead we should feel sorry for those who continue to run from their problems as well as running from the opportunity to truly find out who they are.

Until one finds the inner strength to love themselves they will truly never see the potential they truly have that everyone else sees.

And The Winner IS…………………

Bloged in Life by Adam Sunday May 20, 2007

Well its been a very busy few weeks for me. I am not sure what it is with the career college sector during the summers but it seems to explode. One would think that with it being summer our overall work load would calm down some. We just had our yearly company meeting and it looks like we will have a good year. Some of the many projects I have been working on are the usual site builds, editing the Interactive Department video, as well as Campaigning . Campaigning for what you may ask? Well its for Culture Club. You might remember me talking about it last year. The Saga Part 1 and Part 2.

Culture Club is PlattForms version of a fun committee. They come up with fun ways to make the culture of the company fun allowing the employees to have a good time as well as work.

It was a very close race. Friendships, partnerships and smear campaigns flew around the office like mosquitoes at a summer picnic. My campaign strategy was to run a clean race and just promote my self. However that did not last long because the first smear campaign was actually towards me. So I did what had to be done start a smear campaign against the opponents who were smearing me. I also managed to take our our Intranet (internal web site) and use it for a little horse play and personal gain. That was quickly squashed when IT took away everyones privileges to make changes. In the process of trying to kick people off they actually broke some internal systems lol. It was an easy fix and we were back up and running in a few minutes.

I even went as far as creating a web site. Vote4Nutt.com then became my main focus. A email marketing piece went out to all the employees as well as posters were plastered all over the place. With the wonderful tools the internet has I was able to track the number of hits I had to the site. My campaign worked better than I had hoped.

So thats pretty much what I have been doing the past few weeks. Working and well Working. I really cant say I have been working and sleeping since I didn’t get much sleep last week. I think I managed to get about 4 hours of sleep for the whole week. I really hope that this upcoming week is less stressful and less busy.

I will be able to take a break from work very soon. Camp Quality is just around the corner and a week of fun will be had.

More on that Later
